the tall slab form with sculpted volcanic cone type top with applied rolled rim, some glue remains, the glaze described in a N.Z. Herald 1996 article as 'The Nickel glaze is the culmination of 12 years of trial and error and sings of every hue from pink to sky blue', relief applied gilt plant form highlights to each side, incised signature and original labels to base. Exhibited 1996 Auckland Studio Potter's Exhibition where Firth was the guest exhibitor, this piece noted as 'The largest Moody Blues is the extraordinary colour that first arrests the eye'.
