A cased half ship model of the S.S. Richmond
built in England in 1885. Purchased by the vendor's family for their Pacific Island trading business. The ‘Richmond’ continued to be used on routes between Dunedin, Auckland, the Society Islands, Tonga and Samoa until 1896 when she was sold to the Union Steamship Co. and renamed ‘Haupiri’. In 1915 she was sold by USS Co. to Sun Shipping Co., London, she was lost in a storm in the Mediterranean in 1922. 1570 x 240 x 350mm.
