the four 9ct. gilded rose gold awards of Maltese Cross form with crossed racquets and central cartouche with monogram for the N.Z. Lawn Tennis Association, presentation inscribed to the reverse 'Ladies Championship Singles M. Speirs 1923', etc., each with maker's mark for Mayer & Keane together with five others of various silver gilt types each with a ribbon. Speirs is noted as the N.Z. Ladies' Championships Singles Winner 1923-24, 1925-26 and 1927-28. It is also noted that 'May' Speirs (Mary Hamilton Speirs) married Harry Mitchell Dykes in 1929 and won the N.Z. championship in 1931 as Mrs Dykes.
