includes three hair pins and one crescent form large mount, two highlighted with seed pearls, garnets and coral cabochons. The longest 120mm. Some losses. Note: the trade of Cambodian Kingfisher feathers to China was a major source of revenue for Cambodia and may have been responsible for funding the building Angkor Wat. The jewellery technique of incorporating these feathers is known as Tian-tsui. Use of this jewellery by ladies of the Chinese Imperial Court created a fashion and high demand. Provenance: as lot 230.
