apparently one of a number from the Auckland Public Library repurposed for the Auckland City Art Gallery cafe, c.1961. Oral histories report ten or twelve of these tables in the gallery cafe. Our octogenarian vendor purchased this from Rodney Kirk Smith at the Barry Lett Gallery in the 1960s or '70s. 880 x 865 510. $2500 Two tables are recorded on the McCahon database (cm000603 offered at Webb's in 2001 estimated at 15,000-$20,000 and cm000338 offered at Webb's in 2000 from a private collection had been gifted by the artist to the owners c.1981, estimated at $25,000 - $35,000); another not listed on the database sold at Webb's in 2005 for $3938.
