May Antique & Art Auction

Auction Details

This, our May catalogue represents the largest offering of decorative and Fine Arts that we have ever presented. We're excited to offer in this part three of the Bryan Jackson Estate Collection, another extraordinary and eclectic mix from his private collection that he was renowned for. Furthermore, we have pleasure in promoting a substantial two generation private Wellington collection of New Zealand studio pottery which includes an impressive Len Castle branch pot with a striking chun glazed shoulder over a rich tenmoko body. Furthermore, the catalogue is enhanced by a diverse antique estate collection from the Bay of plenty and a selection of NZ colonial furniture from a historic remuera homestead. Highlights in this catalogue, whilst too many to list include a desk inkstand belonging to Captain R.F. Scott of Antarctic exploration fame; an historically important painting representing the archetypal ANZAC soldier by the Australian Archibald prize winning and celebrated artist William Beckwith McInnes; and a most uncommonly found internally flawless modern brilliant cut diamond ring of over 2.50 carats. We hope these and the rich diversity of the catalogue will tempt you to visit and view in our rooms.
