Auction Details

We open May with an outstanding auction, including a miscellaneous section full of unusual and hard to find collectables; a pair of portrait miniatures of designer William Morris family members, ivory handled walking canes, taxidermy. Tribal, Maori and N.Z. Historical includes three Fijian ula clubs, vintage photos, a rare Maori Battalion document, good collections of Garry Nash, Len Castle and Barry Brickell, Glass and china sections include Murano, Lalique, Lladro and Moorcroft. The tremendous oriental section includes items from two long time collectors, one based in Hong Kong through the 1970's & 1980's; carved panels, deity figures, Chinese silver, archaic pots, jade, ivory, porcelain etc.

Part two starts at 5pm with the jewellery; amber, coral, gold, jade necklaces, diamond encrusted deco style clip, diamond bangle of 12.64ct. TDW, Victorian etruscan boxed gold pendant, rings, earrings, coins. silver and gold wrist and pocket watches, including Omega and Rolex. We have silver frames, rare camel pin cushion, a Guild of Handicraft silver tea set, 12 place silver cutlery set etc., 40 persian rugs and runners, a large furniture entry includes pieces from the two oriental collections, as well as Georgian, Victorian, colonial and French. the Fine Art offering has works from McCahon, Hotere, Lois McIvor, Dean Buchanan, Ivan Hill, Russell Hollings, to mention only a few.
