Lot Details

449-413B.C. - Sear 2526, a good crisp example 'VF'. Note: Athenian Owls were arguably the most influential of all coins and one of the most highly recognisable as they popularised the practice of putting a head on the obverse and a tail (animal) on the reverse. Athena was goddess of both wisdom and warfare as represented by the owl.
