the sides cast in relief with florals and scrolls, the machine engraved lid with presentation inscription, 'Presented to Mr W. Alder by the Employees of Spratt's Patent Ltd, April.17th.1886'. Birmingham 1827 by John Tongue. Length 67. Note: Spratt's was the world's first large-scale manufacturer of dog biscuits. Provenance: The Flower Family Collection.
