Note: Born in Tasmania, David studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology from 1960-1965 and from 1967-1973 lived and exhibited widely in New Zealand. Prior to his departure for the UK in 1973, a survey exhibition toured NZ public galleries and in the same year David was awarded a QEII Arts Council award. David has since remained living in the UK and has exhibited widely - at galleries including 199 and Atlantis Galleries in London, Fruit market in Edinburgh, Mitre Gallery in Chichester, and Hanover Gallery in Liverpool. Awards have included the 1968 Manawatu Art Award and the Davern Prize in 1972, and his work is represented in private collections throughout New Zealand, Australia, Europe and the USA, and notably in St Catherine’s College, Cambridge (UK).
