Note: Norden, born in London was a painter, writer and teacher. studied at 8 Thanet School of Art under John Moody and Royal College of Art, gaining his diploma in 1937, notably under Gilbert Spencer. He went on to teach at Sidney Cooper School of Art, Canterbury, 1942–7; was acting principal of Maidstone School of Art, 1947–8; then principal of Dover and Folkestone School of Art, 1948–71. Norden was a regular RA exhibitor and had a series of one-man shows at Trafford Gallery, King Street, Newburgh Street and Catto Galleries. He was known for his still life's in oil, usually small and painted with great precision.
