engraved: 'HKV (Hong Kong Volunteers), Annual 64 Pdr Competition, 1889, 2nd Prize, Presented by Major Tripp, Won by Sergeant Osborne. Spherical in two sections, gilded interior, on carved rosewood stand. The 64pdr cannon battery was part of the defence scheme for Hong Kong harbour. Provenance: by descent from our vendor's great-grandfather. Dia.120mm.
