lock with strong action, marked ‘Tower’ at tail and ‘Crown’ over ‘GR’ with no border-edge lines and plain ring-neck cock. 9" barrel of .65 calibre with peppery patina and some dark staining. Captive ramrod swivel somewhat pitted. Swivel-link screw has been replaced with squared nut. Walnut stock. Store-keepers stampings on upper grip, as are initials ‘TB’ (probably stock maker). Plain unmarked yellow brass furniture. 16" overall. A nice example. Provenance: From the collection of John & Lynda Matthews (Ōmata Stockade in Taranaki. Waireka Properties Ltd. collection).
