the top section with two short drawers above one full width drawer, two drawers to the base, recessed brass handles, corners and strap fittings. Raised on turned legs. The 2 halves of the chest are united by 4 lugs set into the top section. The backboards are made of stained pine and each section has a large painted stencil noting Est 1778 From J.
