The sides with red tortoiseshell finish embellished with gilt brass mouldings including a laurel wreath and ribbon mount to the front, the lozenge shaped painted panel signed indistinctly lower left (Hardy?) set on a dark green velvet ground. The interior with quarter book-matched kingwood veneers, the hinge engraved Asprey, London. 230 x 180 x 70mm. Very small split to ivory panel.
