the lid surmounted by a bust of Hori Ngakapa Te Whanaunga, chief of Ngāti Whanaunga, designed by factory manager Arthur Rowden Toplis, c.1935, relief decorated with Māori designs, caramel glazed, H.270mm. Cf. Lot 112 in this auction. Two small rim chips.
