Lot Details

used for offerings, also displayed during traditional gatherings and celebrations. Hand carved from a single section of native Alstoiaa Scholars softwood. Of oval bowl form, supported on an integral raised pedestal foot. The handles carved with stylised Bonito fish. The surface is darkened by a mixture of ground charcoal and natural plant resin. Inlaid bands of carved triangular form mother of pearl shell. L.600mm. Provenance: Purchased Webb's auctions 19th Sept. 2013. Receipt available for $4,103.75.
