Lot Details
Bwa culture, southern Burkina Faso, carved geometric patterns with kaolin pigments, central humanoid face with hooked nose. This mask would be worn in a rain dance during agricultural festivals. L.2060mm. Provenance: purchased from Dunbar Sloane 2024, private collection of Michael Yoffe.
