Lot Details

the stylised figure of 13 individually sculpted and glazed sections wired articulately together, with six highlight coloured glaze pools. L.1200mm. Note: June Black exhibited Longbod works at the Centre Gallery Wellington c1960's together with Juliet Peter, Rita Angus, Roy Cowan, John Drawbridge, Jackie McDonald (Fahey) et al. At a time when domestic pottery was the norm Black was producing large sculptural works produced from her small kiln.
