MODEL LAUNCH "CRANKO MADE BY MOVIE MODELS HAVELOCK NORTH" L.500mm. Fuel powered with moving parts and rudder. In original box. Note: Donald Cranko's Engineering factory was in Havelock North in the mid 1940s a line of steam powered toys under the name Movie Models were produced along side general engineering. School pupils were employed part time to handle such tasks as toy painting and assembly. Production ceased in 1956 when Donald move to Kerikeri Northland. The factory was leased to another firm but burnt down in 1959.
