50mm dial engine-turned case hallmarked London 1861, maker's mark JWS. Front cover with blue enamel Roman numerals and rail track minutes framing the window. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, rail track minutes, sunken subsidiary seconds dial at IX, signed 'Chas Frodsham & Co., 02034, AD.Fmsz'. Plate back signed Chas. Frodsham, 84 Strand, London. No.02034. AD.Fmsz (1). Free sprung, keyless fusée movement, lever escapement. 112gm (1) From 1850 the majority of the finest Frodsham watches were marked 'AD.Fmsz', a cryptogram for the year AD1850. The code formed by the numerical sequence of the letters in 'Frodsham', with a ‘Z’ for zero.
