the top decorated with a wāhine and native flowers, the sides carved with hei tiki and other Māori motifs. The interior lid has carved and painted flowers and leaves, embellished with shells, paua and beads, the interior lined with Brenkley's traditional wallpaper. Signed and dated 1944. In excellent condition. Provenance: Gifted by Jane Brenkley to our vendor's mother, c.1960’s. 460 x 320 x 170mm.
