Cordy’s is privileged to offer items from the estate of Douglas Wright, one of N.Z.’s foremost dancers and choreographer. Included are potted plants, assorted collectables, toys, furniture, textiles, artefacts, religious memorabilia and outdoor furniture. We follow on with our miscellaneous collection - taxidermy, a museum quality 19thC ivory plaque, boxes, fishing gear, kauri gum, Louis Vuitton, militaria, Pacific, African and N.Z. tribal artefacts, a memento from Hillary’s Everest expedition, a stone he collected and gifted to his brother, plus personal papers and letters including one historical letter written from Everest base camp days before the first ever ascent. N.Z. glass and pottery, Whitefriars paperweights, Tiffany Favrile lamp, English and European china and porcelain, Chinese snuffs, ivories, bronzes and porcelain, Japanese bronzes and ceramics. The jewellery includes amber, ivory, pearls, diamond necklaces, bracelets, earrings, together with emeralds, rubies, sapphires, aquamarine and other precious stone jewellery, gold chains and sovereigns. Gold pocket watches, wristwatches, clocks, collector’s silver including cutlery, photo frames, tea sets, trays and salvers. The rug section has another extremely fine offering of kilims and quality hand knotted carpets and rugs. The furniture & decorator section includes 18th, 19th & 20thC pieces: French, Georgian and Victorian, tables, desks, chests, an Italian Rococo bedroom suite, lighting, mirrors and décor items. The Art section includes an historical WWI oil 'How I won the VC at Massines Pte J Carroll VC', seven Henrietta Bloxsomme works, a selection of NW Cusa bird paintings, David Barker, Para Matchitt, L.W.
