Lot Details
54 Bore. 6" octagonal barrel which dismounts from frame. Refer - p 168 ‘The Handgun’ by Geoffrey Boothroyd. London proved. Serial # 1035 stamped under loading lever on bottom barrel flat is the only visible marking on the weapon. Never an issued service weapon such as the Adams, these pistols were however, privately purchased by officers of the period and the presence of this item in NZ would suggest it saw use in the land wars. Lock work is positive and nipples serviceable. Overall a dark stained appearance, although all corners are sharp and no major dings. A very collectable revolver. 13" overall. Lock work and nipples are good. Good working order and condition. Provenance: From the collection of John & Lynda Matthews (Ōmata Stockade in Taranaki. Waireka Properties Ltd. collection). No firearms license required.
