‘Abendessen für die Kaninchen’, (Dinnertime for the Rabbits) c. 1860, oil on canvas, signed lower right. 390 x 490mm. Gallery condition, cleaned and relined, in original complementary frame. Provenance: Purchased John Bluebottle Fine Art, New York, who sourced it from private European collection. A genre scene depicting a mother feeding rabbits accompanied by her daughter, knitting, outside a rustic cottage, numerous vegetables and farm items in the foreground.
