Lot Details
decorated on a cream ground with floral motifs and Oriental scenes to the hood, trunk and base, the eight-day Smiths, Enfield movement chiming on a series of gongs. Chinese calligraphy to the interior with date 1952. H.1350mm. Provenance: The estate collection of Prof. G. Dawson. CONDITION REPORT: Overall good condition commensurate with age. The enamel paint finish with some distress - most paint damage to the top surface of the clock and around the base. The glass evidently missing from the face for some time as considerable dust accumulation in the frame where it would sit. Runs for a short time, continuous running may be affected by it sitting on a flat surface, may require cleaning/overhaul to run well. The calligraphy inside the case translated partially on a piece of notepaper sellotaped inside.
