white enamel dial with Roman hours in drum case housing an 8-day bell striking mechanism, raised above an architectural plinth with bevelled glazed front, displaying the bi-metal compensated pendulum within a conforming boulle inlaid chamber. H.425mm. Provenance: The estate collection of Prof. G. Dawson. CONDITION REPORT: Various slight losses and lifting pieces of cut brass inlay (see additional photos) and some visible repairs to the red tortoiseshell lacquer. Door latch doesn't catch properly. Mechanism runs but may require overhaul/clean to run continuously. Bell strike (delicate ring) works. White enamel dial with scratch left of the centre hands pivot and lesser scratch between I and II. Width 240mm, depth 140mm
