Note: Dr Carole Shepheard, retired Professor of Fine Arts at Auckland University and holder of an ONZM for her contribution to the visual arts is an artist, educator and writer living and working in Kawhia. Carole taught at the Elam School of Fine Arts, the University of Auckland for sixteen years during which time she held several teaching, administrative and managerial positions.
