A WW1 Victory Medal impressed 7/74 TPR H B JOYCE NZEF. - Henry Bernard Joyce was killed at Gallipoli on 22 August 1915 aged 23 (but may have been as old as 26). He was from Taranaki and also ‘Strathdene’, Mt Eden Road but was serving with the Canterbury Mounted Rifles when killed. He was last seen 21 August 1915 and sustained wounds to the abdomen and arm during the 1st assault on Hill 60.
