Note: A photo copy of an original photo of Lt. E.D. Cox and newspaper clipping detailing his actions in receiving the Military Cross is attached as a photo with this lot. Family have retained the originals. The clipping mentions: 'He commanded two machine guns, supporting a battalion attack, when strong resistance was encountered and the infantry compelled to withdraw. He covered the operation successfully remaining for seven hours in a most exposed position...'
